Last day of Art Direction

Today is my last day of art direction! in twenty minutes I will go and present my web magazine and my blog! I am pretty excited to be done with this quarter. It was stressful but I did come out with some work that I am very proud of, and because of this class I started a blog which I probably would have never done before and now I am thinking I want to continue blogging.

Hope everyone enjoys their day!

Done with Specialization!

I finally completed my specialization class and project yesterday. It felt so good! and I was happy to find out that people actually enjoyed it.. I need to upload better scans of the actual finalized pieces, but for now this is what I have ( they are a little skewed and cut off) sorry!

Also these are just the four that I had posted previously without screen print on top, I will post the rest later.

Lensbaby exploring in Palatine!

Yesterday was the first nice day in so long! 60 degrees and sunny, Zach and I decided to go on a photo adventure in downtown palatine. I used my lensbaby for the first time outside! here are some of the photos I got:

These people are great..and the dogs too!

Here are some of the portraits that I took over the weekend for my specialization project, as well as photos of a friend's two adorable dogs.

Irish Pride Parade 3/13/11

Last weekend I went to an Irish Pride Parade in Tinley Park. I meant to blog about it that day but I have been so busy with all these school projects that I haven't gotten around to it until right now.... on St. Patricks Day... ha ha! I didn't get to take any actual pictures of the parade because it was just such a tiny street with so many people it was just impossible to not get bumped into, also because I was with Zach and his family and their family friends inside a pub, and we had food and everything, if we went outside we weren't allowed back in due to the fact that they were at maximum capacity. I took some photos of my group though and I absolutely love how some of them turned out. I LOVE NATURAL LIGHT!

3-15-11

The last couple days I have been stressing out trying to finish all my projects, make up work that I had forgotten about. I think that I have had  a record amount of headaches in the last week. Things just keep going wrong with my final projects and I have been so worried... I got a text today from Zach telling me to check out the sunset and I looked out the window and realized I need to stop stressing so much and just enjoy the little things in life.

Lensbaby

It was a lazy friday... I woke up late, worked on my web magazine and once I was really tired of that I noticed how nice the light was coming through my window and decided to take a couple random self portraits with my lensbaby.

In Memory of Jessica Cadieux

For those of you who did not know her, she was a daughter, a niece, and a cousin to many including me.. but growing up she was more like my sister. Jessica was born with muscular dystrophy and was also mentally challenged. Her mother passed away when Jessica was only nine years old, but got by from the love and care from her grandparents and close family. I have so many great memories with her that I will hold close to my heart forever... Piano lessons with Harriett, Pretending to be sister aliens at my mom's birthday party, dancing in grandma's living room for hours to The Spice Girls. She was someone who could always put a smile on my face and she never failed to make me feel like the funniest person alive, her laugh was so contagious! When I was sad, she would be there to give me a hug and figure out something else to do to keep my mind off of things. I will always remember all the fun times I shared with her at The MDA events, the boat rides, the dances, all of them such great and humbling experiences.
She was kind and she loved everyone, she always wanted to help, always lending a hand (except when it came to cleaning her room! Haha!) She could be feisty, but always sweet in the end and you could always feel the love.

She passed away this afternoon at the age of 23, and when I found out, I must say I was quite a mess. So many things ran through my head, I wished that I could have talked to her even to just say hello, but then I remembered all those little memories that I shared with her, things that I will remember that nobody else will and though I am still sad, I know she is in a better place now and she will always be a part of my life.

I love you and will miss you forever

-Courtney the alien.

Here are some photos I have taken of her a few years back, Also a video she helped me and a friend make when we were in high school. I think that the video represents her amazingly with her laugh and her smile.
